Birgit and Slobo Radin are the new innkeepers.

After over 25 years of leading exciting hospitality careers for leading hotels and resorts across the globe, Birgit and Slobo Radin chose a new path of fulfillment. They conducted an extensive search around the nation for a special Inn into which they could pour their passion for extraordinary service and hospitality.

Originally from Germany, Birgit and Slobo share a life-long love of travel, gourmet cuisine and meeting people from different cultures. Having trained under the exacting methods of European schools and perfecting their individual skills in professional assignments across three continents, Birgit and Slobo now proudly call this lovely Inn in the heart of the Midwest “home.”

While Birgit focuses her energy and talents on leading exceptional guest services and hotel management, Slobo shines in food and beverage conceptualization and operations. Together, they are dedicated to ensuring The Goldmoor Inn is without a doubt the best choice for guests seeking an unforgettable experience and magical getaway.

Lots of new updates that I hope you enjoy.

The Colony Hospital BnB in Bishop Hill, IL

The Colony Hospital Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to a warm and inviting island of peace and tranquility. Nestled in a tiny country village (117 residents), once the site of a Swedish communal society, The Colony Hospital Bed and Breakfast is the perfect setting for romantic getaways or a weekend mini vacation.

Built in 1855 as their hospital by the pioneering Swedish colonists, it has been lovingly restored, but with the comfort and conveniences of modern times added. We celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Colony Hospital last year. Charming in its simplicity, The Colony Hospital Bed and Breakfast has five cozy guest rooms (three suites), each with its own private bath and decorated with furnishings reminiscent of the colony era. Choose your favorite bath: walk-in shower, old-fashioned clawfoot tub or double whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. Four of our guest rooms are located on the first floor with one additional suite on the second floor.

Open year round for a midweek or weekend getaway, The Colony Hospital Bed and Breakfast is located within easy driving distance of the Chicago area (3 hours), Peoria, Bloomington, Galesburg, Springfield, Macomb, the Quad Cities and eastern Iowa. Our B&B is the only lodging in Bishop Hill and the only country inn in the area.
We are also only minutes away from Good’s Furniture in Kewanee, one of Illinois’ state parks (Johnson Sauk Trail), the Hennepin Canal, Victorian Geneseo, Knox College and many other attractions and varied activities.

Take the time to rock in our comfy rockers on our famous back porch or to watch our beautiful country sunsets (especially from the Anders Bergland second story screened porch – the best view in all of the village) or stargaze into the pitch-black night. Relax, read, visit, play games or just unwind in our inviting library or snuggle up in front of the fire in the wood-burning stove. Do be sure to ask about our special "
