Washington House Inn-Colonial Charles Town

Washington House Inn B&B in Colonial Charles Town

Enjoy the ambiance, comfort and hospitality of a Bygone Era just 60 miles from Washington, DC. In charming Colonial Charles Town, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains where the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers meet, the Washington House Inn is a wonderful example of late Victorian architecture.

Built at the turn of the century, by descendants of President Washington's brothers John Augustine and Samuel. The Inn is graced with antique furnishings, carved oak mantles, fireplaces and spacious guest rooms, each with air conditioning, queen size bed and private bath. B & B’s are the opening of private homes and new friendships, so relax with friends in the parlor with refreshments, enjoy the serenity of the gazebo or unwind on the large, inviting wraparound veranda, complete with swing and rocking chairs.

Take a leisurely stroll to the charming Colonial Main Street. Hike the mountain trails of the Blue Ridge or bike along the restored C&O towpath. Drive to nearby historical sites, and find that perfect antique on the way back to the Inn. The Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers offer exciting white water rafting, kayaking and serene bird watching or simply float down the peaceful river for a quiet summer day.
